Happy New Year!!!

Welcome back 4B! We hope everyone had a brilliant Eid, Xmas and New Year! We certainly enjoyed our Xmas party before the holidays - we ate so much I thought some of us might burst :-)

Looking forward to the Spring Term and all the exciting new things we are going to learn….

Hello!

In the last few weeks we’ve been doing lots of singing as part of the Singing School - you might have heard us, we’re very loud! We’ve learned songs like ‘Chocoholics’ and ’My Bonny’, and practised some we already knew, like ‘Super Gran’ and our favourite, ‘Manchester UK’ UNITED!  Next week we will be taking part in the Big Sing and showing off our beautiful voices to the rest of the school…..

We have also been doing lots of artwork, Mrs Begum has let us use paints and pastels so our work looks really pretty. Have a look for yourself………

         Wow, aren’t they gorgeous?!

Our last big piece of news is that during swimming this week, EVERYONE in our class swam in the deep end of the pool - it’s 1.9m deep (that’s taller than Miss Smith and Mrs Begum, maybe not as tall as Mr Corteen though….)!  It was a bit scary at first because we couldn’t touch the bottom, but we had armbands and a woggle so we didn’t sink. It was great and we can’t wait till next week’s lesson now!

See you soon!

Hello!

4B have been doing even more exciting things since last week.

We have been learning to play the guitar with Mr Roberts. It’s great fun and we are getting better at it. Next week he might even teach us how to play ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’!

We are also very lucky because we get to do French lessons with Madame Thenot, who comes to teach us from Levenshulme High School for Girls. We can say “Bonjour Madame” amongst other things, and sing the French alphabet, “trés bien“!

This week we performed our class assembly, which was about The Victorians (our topic for this term). We read out some of the facts we’ve learned about Victorian life, particularly life for Victorian children, and some people held up big pictures to form a Timeline. We were quite nervous about standing up in front of the WHOLE school but it went well and everyone clapped at the end.

What a busy week, see you soon!

Welcome to 4B!

A big hello from Mrs Begum, Miss Smith and all our lovely pupils in 4B!

This is where you will be able to see all the exciting things we are doing this year, with photos and videos too.

So far we have been learning about the Victorians and how Victorian children had to work in coal mines or as chimney sweeps (yuk!).

We have also started swimming lessons which are REALLY fun!

In the next few weeks we will be using our ‘green fingers’ to do some gardening, so hopefully there will some pictures up soon of how our little garden is growing.

See you soon!
